Cambium Networks, a UK-based networking hardware vendor, has entered administration following a period of financial decline. The company will cease production of its Wi-Fi access points, firewalls and switches, though it is exploring whether to salvage its fixed wireless broadband business. Most critically, the company's cloud management service (cnMaestro Cloud) is set to shut down after 1 October 2026, forcing customers to urgently migrate to an on-premises alternative or risk losing access to device management capabilities.

Cambium's troubles accelerated rapidly: accounting irregularities led to NASDAQ delisting in 2025, and the company cut 53.6 per cent of its workforce (260 staff) without severance payments. The on-premises management software is only available under a 90-day trial licence, meaning customers will face restricted functionality after the trial period unless the business is acquired by another entity that provides a replacement licence. This situation highlights broader customer concerns about reliance on cloud services when on-premises alternatives exist.
