British stand-up comedian Elf Lyons is bringing her solo show "The Woman on the Edge" to New York, marking her US debut. The limited run at the SoHo Playhouse, presented by WestBeth Entertainment and Mick Perrin Worldwide, blends autobiographical comedy with theatrical experimentation, drawing on the collapse of Lyons' own engagement as its inspiration.

The show runs from 24 September to 18 October, with tickets going on sale on Thursday, 30 July at 10am ET. It combines opera, stand-up, clowning and verbatim theatre, with references to Hitchcock's "Vertigo", the Apollo 13 mission and the opera "Pagliacci". Lyons has directed several shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and is known for genre-blending works including a ballet re-enactment using found objects and a Stephen King-inspired comedy-horror piece.
