Wscripted has announced 12 finalists for its 2026 Cannes Screenplay List, which promotes feature scripts by women and non-binary writers.
– The selection was chosen by Elisabeth Moss, filmmaker Daphne Schmon and Vietnamese director Ash Mayfair.
– The initiative has championed 104 screenplays since 2021, with Mubi partnering since 2022.
– Finalists include projects by Matison LeBlanc, Anoula Cilento, Mithra B. Alavi, Chloe Abrahams and Angelique Knights.
– The programme aims to improve visibility, financing and routes to production for underrepresented writers.
