Elizabeth Holmes has posted from prison that she was “silenced for a long time” and is fighting to prove her innocence and return to her family. Her message comes weeks before the release of a documentary about her, drawing renewed attention to the former Theranos founder’s conviction and imprisonment.

Holmes said posts signed “-EAH” are written in her own words, while unsigned posts are managed by her team; she credited her partner, Billy Evans, with helping manage the account. She said she had been imprisoned for 1,216 days. Convicted of wire fraud and conspiracy in 2022, she is serving an 11-year sentence and is expected to move to a halfway house in 2027; *You Can See Everything*, filmed in the 34 days before her incarceration, is due in cinemas on 16 October.
