Elon Musk’s X Money app is rolling out in the U.S.

TechCrunch · 2 hours ago

Elon Musk's X is rolling out its X Money app to paid subscribers in the United States, marking a step towards his long-stated ambition of turning the platform into an "everything app". The app gives Premium and Premium+ subscribers a digital and physical X Visa debit card, allowing instant, fee-free peer-to-peer transfers within the app, no foreign transaction fees, and free cash withdrawals from ATMs worldwide.

Premium+ subscribers, who pay $40 a month or $395 a year, automatically qualify for 6% APY on their balance, while Premium subscribers, at $8 a month or $84 a year, can access the same rate by linking a direct deposit. X Money also offers up to 3% cash back on certain purchases and early access to direct-deposited pay. The launch fulfils a decades-old goal for Musk, who founded X.com as a financial services venture in 1999 before it merged into PayPal; he revived the name after buying Twitter in 2022.
