Elton John began his final two Farewell Yellow Brick Road concerts in Mexico City, returning to Estadio Banorte 34 years after his first performance there. He thanked fans for their longstanding support, and the show marked the end of a tour that began in 2018 and was delayed in Mexico by the pandemic.

Organisers said more than 60,000 people attended the first concert, which featured 24 songs over two hours. Highlights included an extended “Rocket Man”, a “Crocodile Rock” tribute to Mexican fans, emotional images during “Candle in the Wind”, and “Cold Heart”, with Dua Lipa shown on screen; the second performance was due to follow.
