Embattled Rep. Max Miller Concedes in Ohio
Republican Max Miller has conceded the Ohio 7th District race after Democrat Brian Poindexter was projected to win, ending Miller’s bid for a third term. The result matters because Miller’s campaign faced allegations about his conduct and voter frustration over the cost of living, while the district had backed both Miller and Donald Trump in 2024.
With 80 per cent of votes counted, Poindexter led by eight points. Miller denies violence against women and says he did not hurt his child; an investigation into possible child abuse was unsubstantiated, meaning there was insufficient evidence to support a finding of abuse or neglect. Poindexter, a union ironworker and Brook Park city councillor, focused his campaign on affordability and drew support from working-class voters.
In short
- Max Miller conceded Ohio’s 7th District race.
- Brian Poindexter led by eight points with 80 per cent counted.
- Allegations and cost-of-living concerns weighed on Miller’s campaign.
