Emmys Sets Reba McEntire For Dolly Parton Tribute; Adds Big ‘Baywatch’ Contingent, McConaughey & Harrelson, LL Cool J & Caan, More As Presenters

Deadline · 2 hours ago

Ahead of the 78th Emmy Awards, airing live from the Peacock Theater on 14 September on NBC and Peacock, producers have confirmed further details of the ceremony's tributes and presenter line-up. Reba McEntire will lead a tribute to Dolly Parton, who died recently aged 80, while previously announced segments honouring Catherine O'Hara, a 50th-anniversary Charlie's Angels reunion and a 30th-anniversary Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion also remain part of the broadcast. The additions matter as NBC and the Television Academy work to boost the show's entertainment value and use presenter slots to promote upcoming series.

New presenters include much of the cast of Fox's forthcoming Baywatch reboot, along with stars promoting other new shows such as LL Cool J and Scott Caan of NCIS: New York, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson of Brothers, and Julia Garner of The Altruists. Jamie Lee Curtis will take on presenting, hosting and nominee duties simultaneously, while comedians Awkwafina and John Mulaney, along with stars including Emma D'Arcy, Emmy Rossum and Sofía Vergara, have also been added to a roster that already featured names such as Zendaya, Amy Poehler and Florence Pugh. The In Memoriam segment will feature Noah Kahan performing "Bridge Over Troubled Water", with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, Jeannae Rouzan-Clay and host Mariska Hargitay serving as executive producers.
