Encore AI raises $30M to build AI agents that learn from customer calls

TechCrunch · 4 hours ago

Encore AI, a startup that builds AI voice agents trained on companies' own customer interactions, has raised $30 million in a Series A round led by Team8. The funding matters because it reflects growing investor appetite for AI agents that don't just automate generic customer service scripts, but learn from a specific organisation's most successful sales and support conversations, potentially giving the company an edge over larger CRM providers moving into the same space.

Founded in 2022 as Insait IO by CEO Dvir Ginzburg, the company began by building recommendation software for financial advisers before rebranding as Encore AI and expanding into a platform that mines call recordings, emails and texts alongside CRM data to identify which conversational tactics led to successful outcomes, a process Ginzburg calls "interaction mining". Encore now has more than 40 enterprise customers, mostly financial institutions, and says its annual recurring revenue has grown more than fivefold since its seed round less than 18 months ago. The Series A also drew participation from Planven, Lukatz, Garage, and several banks and insurers, some of whom invested after first becoming customers; the funds will go towards expanding US sales and deploying the platform with more large financial institutions.
