Energy executive goes missing whilst paddleboarding off Florida coast
An energy company executive has gone missing after setting off on a paddleboard near Jupiter Beach, Florida, prompting a major air and sea search by the US Coast Guard. Matt Pawlowski, 48, Vice President and Head of Execution at NextEra Energy Transmission, was last seen at around 9am on Monday and failed to return home, leading his family to report him missing.
The Coast Guard confirmed that a member of the public found his yellow and lime green paddleboard roughly ten miles offshore from Jupiter Island, and it has since been handed to local police. Pawlowski was last seen wearing a white hat, an orange shirt and grey shorts. Crews searched through the night and are continuing a person-in-the-water operation, with a local paddleboarder telling reporters conditions near the pier can be rough and unpredictable. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Coast Guard Sector Miami.
