England to face Pakistan and Sri Lanka in tri-series
England will compete in a one-day international tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Lahore and Rawalpindi this October, marking the team's first ODI tri-series since a 2015 World Cup warm-up contest against Australia and India. The tournament kicks off England's winter schedule, which continues with white-ball and Test fixtures against Australia, South Africa and Bangladesh through to March.
Each side plays the other twice, with the top two finishers meeting in a final on 31 October at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. The series begins on 18 October with Pakistan facing Sri Lanka, before England play Pakistan in Rawalpindi on 20 October and Sri Lanka there two days later; matches then shift to Lahore for England's fixtures against Pakistan on 25 October and Sri Lanka on 29 October. It follows England's recent ODI success under captain Harry Brook, who has overseen series wins against Sri Lanka in January and India this year.
