England women cruise past France
England Women defeated France 38-4 in Toulouse in their first match of 2026, extending their unbeaten record against the French. The convincing victory provides a positive mid-season statement ahead of the Women’s Rugby League World Cup later this year.
France led briefly through two penalties, but England scored seven tries and held a 28-4 half-time advantage. Lucy Murray and Ellise Derbyshire each scored twice, while Ella Donnelly, Eva Hunter and Jenna Foubister also crossed; Izzy Rowe converted five of seven attempts.
