According to Statcounter figures, Windows 11 now holds just under 70 percent market share, while Windows 10 still accounts for roughly 30 percent. Windows 10 lost official support last year, but Microsoft's Extended Security Updates programme allows users to keep receiving patches for a fee, having quietly extended consumer coverage to 2027 in June 2026, with commercial users able to obtain up to three additional years.
