Escaped Tennessee killer’s abandoned truck offers clues to what he may do next: Retired FBI agent
Jacob Allen Morley, serving a life sentence for murder, escaped from a Tennessee prison and remains the subject of a multi-state manhunt. A retired FBI agent says the pickup truck Morley abandoned in Illinois may offer clues to his movements, while warning that a less identifiable vehicle could make him harder to find.
Prison staff discovered Morley was missing late on Sunday, and surveillance footage later showed him crossing the perimeter fence. He was recorded taking a work truck about two miles from the prison at around 1am on Monday; authorities found it in Marion, Illinois, early Tuesday, but did not find him. State and federal agencies, including the US Marshals Service, are assisting. Morley, convicted of the 2022 murder of Cody Birchfield and other offences, is described as 5ft 11in and 240lb, with brown hair and green eyes; Tennessee authorities say he should be considered dangerous.
