EuroBasket is the European national-team basketball competition run by FIBA, the sport’s international governing body. Before the main tournament, teams may need to pass through qualifying rounds, with results determining who advances.
Great Britain’s team represents England, Scotland and Wales, while Switzerland is one of its opponents in Group E. Tosan Evbuomwan and Amari Williams are among the players joining the GB side as debutants.
The campaign gives teams a route towards EuroBasket and a chance to build experience in international competition. Great Britain’s previous failure to qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup is part of the recent context for its national team.
