Even Realities G2 improves its display but frustrates with awkward controls
Even Realities’ G2 smart glasses improve on the first generation in display quality, battery capacity and durability, but their controls make them harder to use. The review finds that adding a separately sold smart ring does not deliver the easy, hands-free interaction the glasses promise, and may undermine an otherwise capable product.
The G2 starts at $599, with prescription lenses costing an extra $159 to $349; the R1 control and health-tracking ring costs $249. Compared with the G1, the display resolution rises from 640 x 200 to 640 x 350, refresh rate from 20Hz to 60Hz, and water and dust protection to IP65. The glasses can show notifications, directions and translations, while the ring tracks several health measures, but the review says navigating through small touch surfaces is awkward.
