Horsey Game is a newly released £10 PC simulation in which players catch bizarre creatures, modify their genetics and race them to earn money for a partner’s life-saving treatment. Its deliberately absurd premise treats mutant animals, vehicles and other hybrids as “horses”, making genetic experimentation central to both the comedy and the competitive racing.

Developed by Captain Games and released for Windows PC on 18 February, the game requires players to raise exactly $62,375 to treat Sweetie’s horse flu. Players explore locations including a swamp, power plant and abandoned CRISPR laboratory, while the community has begun sharing genome maps and analysing creature builds for faster race times; some scientists have also praised aspects of its nucleotide-mixing mechanics.
