Everything We Know About Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Social Reckoning’ So Far

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Aaron Sorkin is returning to Facebook’s world with *The Social Reckoning*, a companion film to 2010’s *The Social Network*. Rather than continuing the earlier film’s story with the same characters and cast, it examines the revelations behind the 2021 Facebook Files investigation, framing the material as a technological thriller about the company’s alleged harms and internal decision-making.

The film is due in cinemas on 9 October 2026, with Jeremy Strong playing Mark Zuckerberg, Jeremy Allen White portraying *Wall Street Journal* reporter Jeff Horwitz, and Mikey Madison as whistleblower Frances Haugen. Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield will not return; the supporting cast includes Bill Burr, Wunmi Mosaku, Billy Magnussen and Betty Gilpin, while Sorkin directs and produces alongside Todd Black, Peter Rice and Stuart Besser. A trailer was released in June following an initial CinemaCon preview in April.
