‘Evil Dead Burn’ Cast “Got Warned” About “Relentless” Toll Of Horror Franchise: “I Would Do It Again In A Heartbeat”
The cast of Evil Dead Burn, the latest instalment in the long-running horror franchise, have spoken about the demanding experience of making the film as it arrives in cinemas. Star Hunter Doohan, who plays Joseph, said he and his co-stars had been "warned about" the "relentless" nature of the shoot, but that he thoroughly enjoyed it and "would do it again in a heartbeat". The comments come as the film, directed by Sébastien Vaničेk, premieres in US theatres on 10 July 2026.
Doohan told SlashFilm that the cast knew what they were signing up for from the script, describing it as "relentless from the beginning", while co-star Souheila Yacoub, who plays Alice, said discovering the story on set as they went was "the most fun". The franchise began with Sam Raimi's 1979 short Within the Woods, which became 1981's The Evil Dead, followed by an original trilogy, Fede Álvarez's 2013 reboot and Lee Cronin's Evil Dead Rise (2023), which took nearly $147m globally. Producer Robert Tapert described the new film as the story of a French woman in a bad marriage in America, facing an abusive husband and disbelieving "in-laws from hell".
