Evil New York man admits to beheading ex-girlfriend to get revenge on her for dumping him

Daily Mail ·

Damon Foy, 50, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for killing and dismembering his former girlfriend, Alberta Dale, in upstate New York in 2024. The case has drawn attention to the risks of domestic abuse and the enforcement of protective orders: Dale had an active order barring Foy from contacting her.

Dale, 44, was reported missing on 1 April after relatives raised concerns. Police found her severed head in a suitcase at Foy’s home and other remains in a nearby rubbish bin; records say Foy told officers she had “played him like a sucker”. He had faced earlier charges over assaulting and strangling her, and was out on bail when she was killed. He remains in custody and is due to be sentenced on 16 December 2026.

Domestic abuse can involve violence, threats or attempts to control a partner, and it can continue after a relationship ends. Courts can issue protective orders that prohibit a person from contacting or approaching someone.

Alberta Dale had such an order against her former partner, Damon Foy. Before Dale was killed, Foy had faced charges over assaulting and strangling her and was on bail; the case has therefore raised questions about how protective orders are enforced and how risks are managed.
