Ynon Kreiz, who is stepping down as Mattel’s chief executive, has discussed taking a senior role at Paramount with its chief executive, David Ellison, according to sources cited by Deadline. The move comes as Paramount prepares to complete its planned $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery, a merger that will bring together major film, television and streaming businesses.

Kreiz’s title and responsibilities have not been settled, and several options are being considered. His experience includes leading Mattel for eight years, as well as running international media companies Endemol Group and Fox Kids Europe and investing in media and technology. His international and financial background may suit Paramount’s expanded global operations, though the merged company’s organisation chart is still taking shape; Mattel has named former Condé Nast chief Roger Lynch as Kreiz’s successor.
