Ex-SWFC midfielder who signed during crisis seals his next move – thestar.co.uk
Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has joined Charlton Athletic on a one-year contract after leaving Hillsborough at the end of last season. The move gives the experienced midfielder a fresh start in the Championship and adds depth to Charlton’s options in the centre of the pitch.
Chalobah originally joined Wednesday amid an injury crisis and made 13 appearances during the 2025–26 campaign, which ended in the club’s relegation. He had been training with Charlton as a trialist before signing and made an immediate impression by assisting a goal in their 3–1 Carabao Cup win over Cheltenham Town.
