Two former teammates of French trans basketball player Julie Tetart have publicly challenged claims that she holds no physical advantage over female opponents, ahead of ongoing debate about her possible eligibility for the WNBA. Speaking on the French podcast "Club Five," Sara Crudo and Martina Bestagno described Tetart's strength as unmatched in the women's game, with Bestagno saying the difference compared with players such as Brittney Griner was "huge" despite Tetart being smaller in stature.

Tetart, listed at 6'3" and 200 pounds, averaged around 20 points and 20 rebounds per game last season while playing in France's second division, and is set to return to Monaco's team when the new season begins in September. Bestagno said she did not believe Tetart would "dominate" the WNBA, arguing basketball success is not purely about physical strength, but Crudo was more critical, calling the situation "unfair" and arguing Tetart, who transitioned after going through male puberty at around 30, was taking opportunities from other women who had worked their whole lives to reach elite level.
