Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported more than 2,000 known or suspected terrorists since President Donald Trump took office in January 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has told Fox News Digital, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. DHS said the figures demonstrate the agency's ongoing vigilance against terrorist threats a quarter of a century after the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people and led to the creation of DHS and ICE.

DHS said ICE arrested more than 2,150 known or suspected terrorists between 20 January 2025 and 9 September 2026, deporting 2,015 of them. Officials cited several recent cases, including the arrest of a Mexican national accused of plotting a mass-casualty attack on a UFC event at the White House, a Brazilian national alleged to be a former commander of two designated foreign terrorist organisations, and four Venezuelan members of the Tren de Aragua gang who pleaded guilty over a fatal 2024 shooting in the Bronx. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the anniversary underscored the department's commitment to continued vigilance.
