Billboard · 3 hours ago

A newly restored concert film, "George Michael: The Faith Tour," is set for cinema release from 6 November, capturing the British pop star during the 1988 European leg of his landmark Faith Tour. Produced in partnership with George Michael Entertainment, Mercury Studios and Sony Music Entertainment, the film aims to showcase Michael at the height of his powers and introduce his talents to new audiences following his death in 2016. An official trailer and poster have now been released ahead of the cinema debut.

The film was shot at Paris's Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy using a 14-camera, 35mm setup across two nights, and is directed by longtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin. It opens with a short film by Mary McCartney featuring previously unseen audio and imagery from 1986-1988, and will be accompanied by an 18-track live album spanning Michael's solo and Wham! catalogues. His 1987 album Faith won the Grammy for album of the year and produced four US number one singles, making him the only British male solo artist to achieve that feat from a single record; Universal Pictures Content Group and Bleecker Street's Crosswalk division have acquired international and North American distribution rights.
