The family of Yousef Makki, a public schoolboy stabbed to death in 2019, have demanded that Big Brother contestant Lynx Noumey be removed from the ITV show after he was revealed to be a close friend of Joshua Molnar, the young man cleared of murder and manslaughter over the killing. Yousef's sister, Jade Akoum, said Noumey allegedly celebrated Molnar "getting off" after the trial and should not be given a platform on national television, arguing he sets a poor example for young viewers.

Yousef, 17, who had won a scholarship to Manchester Grammar School and hoped to become a heart surgeon, died following a confrontation in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, in March 2019. Molnar was cleared of murder and manslaughter but jailed for 16 months for lying to police and possessing a knife, while a second inquest, secured after his family's campaigning, ruled Yousef had been unlawfully killed and that Molnar's use of the knife had been "unnecessary, disproportionate and unreasonable". The Crown Prosecution Service declined to pursue a retrial in 2023, and Yousef's mother later died of sepsis. The family say they were sent social media posts from 2019 in which Noumey appeared to boast that Molnar had "got away with murder", and have urged ITV to investigate and remove him from the programme.
