Billboard · 53 minutes ago

Dove Cameron's new single "When in Rome" has been voted the top pick in Billboard's weekly new music poll, taking more than 71% of the vote ahead of releases from Jhené Aiko, Slayyyter and Bleachers. The track, released with a music video on Friday, marks the first taste of Cameron's long-awaited debut studio album, following her earlier career as a Disney Channel star and established solo recording artist.

The whimsical love song appears to draw on Cameron's real-life romance with Måneskin frontman Damiano David, who is Italian, with lyrics referencing falling in love and building a home together. The playful accompanying video, directed by Hannah De Vries, was praised by Cameron for its cast's improvisation and energy. Jhené Aiko's Westside Whimsy came second with 11% of the vote, followed by Slayyyter's "Crank 2" and Bleachers' "Caught Myself Believing"; no title or release date has yet been announced for Cameron's forthcoming album.
