‘Fast & Furious’ Stars Tease Upcoming TV Series and Final Movie ‘Fast Forever’: No More “007, Bring Your Cars to Space Sh**”

The Hollywood Reporter · 2 hours ago

The cast of Fast & Furious have offered updates on the franchise's future, including a supposedly final film, "Fast Forever", and a planned television series, timed to celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the original 2001 film. Universal is re-releasing "The Fast and the Furious" in cinemas and held a special Los Angeles event on Monday, following an emotional screening at Cannes earlier this year, underscoring the franchise's enduring commercial and cultural significance for the studio.

Vin Diesel has praised the script for "Fast Forever", the eleventh instalment, due for release in March 2028, calling it "the best script I have read in decades." Co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster said they had not yet read it, with Rodriguez hoping the finale returns to the franchise's street-racing roots rather than the space-set plots of later films, and Brewster expressing hope for a return to Los Angeles settings. Rodriguez suggested the film may mark an ending only for the current cast, describing themselves as "a bridge to another generation." A separate Fast & Furious television series is also in development, expanding on the franchise's legacy characters, with Brewster citing the Taylor Sheridan universe as inspiration and hinting she has already pitched a storyline involving her character and the late Paul Walker's.
