A father and daughter from Doncaster lost their lives at a popular Cornish beach after encountering difficulties in the water. John Peter Collins, aged 66, and his daughter Samantha, aged 32, were recovered from Fistral Beach in Newquay on 26 July and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

Formal inquests into the deaths are scheduled to commence this week at Cornwall's coroner's court in Truro. The family's grief has been compounded by efforts to recover personal belongings, particularly a handbag of Samantha's containing sentimental items; authorities have made a public appeal for assistance in locating these possessions.
