The FBI and Michigan State Police are appealing for information after a newborn baby was found dead in a portable toilet at the Electric Forest festival campsite in Rothbury, Michigan. The infant was discovered unresponsive on Sunday 28th June during routine maintenance checks by a contractor's employee, and an autopsy has since confirmed the baby was born alive. Investigators are treating the case seriously and have withheld further details to protect the integrity of the ongoing inquiry.

A $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible, and members of the public can submit tips online or via a dedicated hotline. Electric Forest's organisers described themselves as heartbroken and urged festival-goers to assist police. The festival closed early that weekend due to severe weather, and the incident follows a separate death at the event, that of Jerald Jackson, which was ruled a suicide but is now being questioned by his family.
