The FBI has captured Khalid Ahmed Satary, a fugitive accused of orchestrating a Medicare fraud scheme worth more than $547 million, in an overseas arrest that marks the third capture from the bureau's "Most Wanted Fraudsters" list. The arrest underscores the FBI's intensified efforts to track down high-value white-collar fugitives who had fled US jurisdiction, and signals progress in a co-ordinated international law enforcement push against large-scale healthcare fraud.

Satary was indicted in 2019 in the Southern District of Florida over the alleged scheme before evading capture and prompting an international manhunt. His arrest is the third from the FBI's fraudster watchlist within a five-week period, according to the bureau, suggesting a concentrated recent effort to close in on fugitives named on that list.
