EA Sports has published the FC 27 Launch Update pitch notes ahead of early access, outlining a series of changes to Ultimate Team designed to give players more control over squad-building and to make progression feel more rewarding. The update focuses on offering more ways to earn cards outside of packs, improving post-match rewards, and giving game modes clearer, more distinct purposes, changes that matter to the large player base who invest heavily in Ultimate Team throughout the season.

Key changes include expanded card acquisition routes such as SBCs and more flexible Evolutions, alongside better-balanced promo squads; the Destined of Glory promo, launching on 25 September, will feature 15 items with a minimum overall rating of 85, down from 20 items and a minimum of 83 last year. Post-match FUT Coin rewards will rise substantially from last year's 500–600 range, though exact figures have not been confirmed, while players can earn 15 to 100 Season Points per eligible match, up to a daily cap of 850, meaning seasonal rewards can be unlocked earlier rather than only in later weeks. Live Events will gain offline variants and greater variety, and new content such as The Grounds will add further modes at launch.
