EA Sports has released a "Deep Dive" outlining The Grounds, a new social football mode arriving in FC 27 that draws comparisons to the studio's earlier Volta mode. Set across three districts inspired by the UK, France and Argentina, the mode lets players create and customise a footballer to explore streets and stadiums with friends, blending casual play with more structured club activities and progression systems.

The Grounds folds all club-related content into a single hub called the Clubhouse, offering formats ranging from casual kickabouts to competitive 11v11 matches and Rush games. Progression is driven by objectives and drills that unlock customisation rewards, while a new system called Amps lets players apply stat boosts, playstyles and perks modelled on real footballers such as Kylian Mbappé, across Standard and Signature categories with four tiers each. Cosmetic options, including branded apparel and kits, further allow players to personalise their avatars.
