Fenix Flexin Responds To Viral Breakdown Claiming “Rubberz” Is “Fully” AI-Generated

Stereogum · 3 hours ago

Shoreline Mafia rapper Fenix Flexin has responded to producer Medasin’s viral claim that his hit “Rubberz” was made entirely with AI, amid weeks of speculation over the track’s origins. The dispute matters because it highlights growing concerns about transparency in AI-assisted music production, particularly when artists may present generated material as conventionally recorded work.

Medasin alleged that Fenix Flexin and credited producer Purp On The Beat used Treblo, previously called Sonauto AI, citing a pre-release filename and demonstrations of similar output from the software. Fenix posted alleged stems and project evidence, but Medasin said these appeared to be AI output split into vocals, instruments, bass and drums, with real vocal layers added; Fenix later deleted the post. Purp On The Beat has not admitted AI generation, though he has argued that AI can be used as a creative tool.

  • Medasin says “Rubberz” was fully generated using AI software.
  • Fenix Flexin posted evidence, then deleted it.
  • The dispute centres on transparency around AI-made music.
