Ferrari drivers say Mexico row settled after talks
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc say their disagreement over an opening-lap clash at the Mexico City Grand Prix is settled after talks with Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur. The dispute had damaged Ferrari’s chance of a one-two finish and led Hamilton to criticise the race publicly; both drivers now say they are ready to move on.
Leclerc said speaking face-to-face helped, and Hamilton said they had aired their views while retaining respect for each other. Neither made demands during the discussions, which focused on working together more effectively. Their immediate prospects in Sao Paulo are difficult: Leclerc qualified fourth but faces a 10-place grid drop for power unit changes, while Hamilton will start from the back after engine penalties totalling 65 places.
In short
- Hamilton and Leclerc say their Mexico GP dispute is over.
