Tennessee Titans cornerback Nazeeh Johnson has received a six-game unpaid NFL suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. Johnson says the result stemmed from fertility medication taken while he and his wife were receiving treatment, and he urged other players to seek approval before taking any medication.

The 28-year-old, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Kansas City Chiefs, joined Tennessee in July after four seasons in Kansas City. He may take part in all pre-season activities before the ban begins on 30 August; with the Titans opening their season on 13 September, he can seek reinstatement from 19 October. Johnson also said the couple recently lost a baby but have nine viable eggs remaining.
