FF7 Revelation Director Really Wants You To Have A Physical Edition For The Game
Final Fantasy VII Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi says he is trying to secure some form of physical edition for the game, although Square Enix has not made a final decision. The issue matters to fans and collectors as the industry increasingly moves towards downloads, potentially leaving the final part of the Remake trilogy without a traditional boxed release.
Hamaguchi said the company is still deciding its product line-up and must account for platform-specific storage limits, disc capacity and other requirements. He supports physical media because of its value to fan culture, including collecting and obtaining autographs, but suggested a future physical release could range from a disc to a code-in-a-box or key card. Revelation is due in 2027, following physical multi-disc releases for Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth.
