FilmLA Extends Application Deadline For Low Impact Permit Pilot Program
FilmLA has extended its Low Impact Permit Pilot Program through April 2027, continuing reduced-cost permits for film and television productions in Los Angeles. The extension keeps applications open while the city reviews other permitting options.
The pilot had been due to end on 31 October. Permits cover up to three locations over three consecutive days, with no more than 30 cast and crew. In its first six months, FilmLA issued 422 permits, which officials say saved filmmakers more than $400,000 in combined fees. The pilot is separate from a proposed no-cost micro shoot permit approved by the City Council in October.
