Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy 14 will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026. The release expands the long-running online role-playing game to another platform, though Switch 2 players will need a separate subscription to access it.

Pre-orders are due to begin shortly, and the game’s first month on sale will be free of subscription charges while Square Enix monitors server stability. A Nintendo Switch Online membership will not be needed, while players with an active FFXIV subscription on another platform can receive a 50% discount on the Switch 2 version.
