Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s Platinum trophy is expected to be easier to obtain than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. He said Rebirth was deliberately designed to make players complete and perfect its extensive content, but acknowledged that the team underestimated how many players would pursue the Platinum trophy and regretted the negative reaction.

Hamaguchi said Revelation would prioritise enjoyable combat rather than difficulty for its own sake, reflecting lessons learned from Rebirth. The team expects around 20% or more of players to unlock Revelation’s Platinum trophy, compared with approximately 2.6% for Rebirth. The game is scheduled for release on 8 April 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
