Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Devs Say Ending Is Best ‘Not Explained To You By Someone Else’
At a PAX West panel, developers of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation urged fans to experience the trilogy's ending for themselves rather than seek out explanations from others, with game director Naoki Hamaguchi and battle director Teruki Endo stressing that the conclusion should feel like a personal experience rather than one spoiled or interpreted by outsiders. This message matters because Revelation marks the final instalment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, bringing years of character arcs and relationships to a close for long-time fans.
The panel also detailed combat additions for the new playable characters Cid and Vincent, alongside a new FITS system offering four specialisations (Warrior, Knight, Black Mage and Summoner) that alter abilities and outfits, though players can still choose their preferred outfit skin regardless of FITS choice. Final Fantasy VII Revelation is due for release on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Windows PC and Xbox Series S on 8 April 2027.
