Billboard · 3 hours ago

Chuya Koyama's Uchu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) Vol. 46, the concluding volume of the long-running manga serialised in Morning magazine since 2008, has topped the Billboard Japan Book Hot 100 on the chart released 30 July. The volume achieved a clean sweep, ranking first across brick-and-mortar, e-commerce and e-book sales, underlining the popularity of the award-winning series' finale.

The chart tracks the period from 20 to 26 July and combines physical sales, e-books, library loans, subscription data and social media activity. Square Enix's manga adaptation of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) Vol. 17 debuted at No. 2, followed by Tsurumaikada's Medalist Vol. 15 at No. 3. Mystery writer Haruo Yuuki's new novel Rakuen entered at No. 12 in its first partial tracking week, topping the social media metric ahead of what will be its first full week of tracking.

  • Space Brothers' final volume tops Billboard Japan Book Hot 100.
  • It topped physical, e-commerce and e-book sales simultaneously.
  • Apothecary Diaries and Medalist follow at No. 2 and No. 3.
