Finnish comedy hit “100 Litres of Gold” is getting a sequel, “200 Litres of Gold”, continuing the story of sisters Pirkko and Taina and their obsession with sahti, a traditional Finnish beer. They will compete in the Finnish Sahti Championship, forcing them to manage family tensions, rivals and their father, while the filmmakers promise a film that is darker, funnier and larger in scale.

Elina Knihtilä and Pirjo Lonka return, alongside two new rival brewers from another village. The sequel follows the original’s strong success as Finland’s most-watched local film of 2025, while a US remake is also in development with Dennis Lehane. Producers say the new film can be watched independently, though it explores more serious consequences, including one sister’s severely damaged liver, and a third instalment remains possible.
