Fire end campaign with comfortable win over Spirit

Welsh Fire ended their Women’s Hundred campaign with a 15-run victory over London Spirit at Sophia Gardens. Both teams had already been eliminated, but Georgia Wareham’s first half-century in the competition and a strong early bowling spell from Grace Potts ensured Fire finished on a positive note.

Fire made 138-7 from 100 balls, with Wareham scoring 50 from 34 deliveries after the innings had lost momentum. Spirit were bowled out for 123 from 99 balls; Potts took 3-23 and removed their top three during the powerplay, while captain Charlie Dean made 27 before Deandra Dottin’s late resistance ended with five balls remaining. Fire finished fifth in the table and Spirit sixth.
