Firefighters are tackling a fire at a scrapyard on an industrial estate in Hatfield, near Doncaster. The blaze is under control, but crews will remain at the site overnight and into the following day, while nearby residents have been advised to keep doors and windows closed because of smoke.

At its peak, nine fire engines attended the incident on Bootham Lane. The fire began among scrap cars and tyres before spreading to nearby vegetation; the road remains closed and police have asked people to avoid the area.
