Fireworks shot across Sheffield street as horrified onlookers say ‘it’s like a third world war’

Fireworks were reportedly set off across Gleadless Road in Sheffield on Bonfire Night, with footage shared online showing them flying over the street. Onlookers described the scene as “like a third world war”, and police were called.

South Yorkshire Police received the report at 7.21pm on Thursday, 5 November, and attended near The Brothers Arms pub. The group had dispersed before officers arrived, so the incident was closed. The footage was shared by the Facebook page Sheffield Online, which urged people in the area to take care.
