Warner Bros. has delayed the long-awaited Gremlins 3 from 19 November 2027 to 6 October 2028, while releasing its first official teaser. The sequel’s autumn release is intended to capitalise on the studio’s success with October blockbusters and reflects the franchise’s horror roots, despite the original film’s strong association with Christmas.

The film will mark the live-action return of Gizmo and the Mogwai, 36 years after Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Chris Columbus is directing, Hannah Marks is working from a screenplay developed by Columbus, Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, and Steven Spielberg is returning as executive producer; the original Gremlins earned $212.9 million worldwide.
