Fix up your van with a bunch of your best pals and escape an onslaught of tornados in survival co-op game Funnel Runners
Rock Paper Shotgun has highlighted Funnel Runners, a new online co-op survival game in which up to eight players must repair a getaway van before a rampaging tornado catches up with them. Developed by Supernova Studios, the game is framed as a survival-horror experience, with the tornado cast in the role of an unstoppable pursuing threat, giving the disaster movie premise a tense, monster-chase feel rather than a straightforward weather simulation.
Set in a typical American suburb, players must scavenge the town for van parts such as tyres and engine oil while using tools including a flashlight, a radar to track the tornado's movement, and a defibrillator to revive fallen teammates. Hazards extend beyond the central twister to lightning, fire and even multiplying storms or hurricanes. Supernova Studios says the game is already complete and fully playable but is launching into early access, with roughly a year of planned updates adding new areas, weather events, hazards and mission types; it is available now on Steam.
