FKA Twigs announced as Southbank’s Meltdown 2027 curator, with special guests announced for ‘Hometown’ grassroots events across the UK
FKA Twigs will curate Southbank Centre’s 32nd Meltdown festival, leading an 11-day programme in London from 10 to 20 June 2027. She will perform herself and select artists across genres, drawing on the cultural influences that have shaped her work; the festival is part of Southbank’s wider 2027 season.
A new Hometown Meltdown will also bring two-day programmes to grassroots venues in six UK cities between December 2026 and March 2027. Curators include Kelly Lee Owens, Stewart Lee, Kathryn Joseph, Jamie Cullum, Pauline Black and Rhoda Dakar, with local artists alongside established performers. Full line-ups and ticket information for both festivals are due later; the article says the UK has more than 800 grassroots music venues.
