Flo Anthony, a pioneering American entertainment journalist best known for her work at the New York Post’s Page Six, has died aged 74 after cancer. Her career broke several racial and gender barriers, including becoming the first Black woman in the Post’s entertainment and Page Six departments, and the first woman in its sports department.

Anthony began as a publicist for leading boxers before joining the Post in 1985, where she reported hundreds of celebrity stories. She also worked in television, radio and magazine publishing, including six seasons co-hosting E!’s “The Gossip Show”, and was married to former boxer Michael Spinks in January.
